| July 16, 2013 The Board of Education of Independent School District #238 met in regular session on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at 7:00 pm in the board room. Members present: Hall, Kuhn, Loppnow, Soiney, Swenson, Weidemann and Supt. Backer Members absent: Adkins, Mr. Nolte Also present: Hannah Wingert, Jessica Hahn-Miller and Lynette Donald The meeting was called to order by Chair Kuhn. The Pledge of Allegiance was said. Motion by Soiney, second by Loppnow and carried unanimously, to approve the revised agenda. Motion by Soiney, second by Loppnow and carried unanimously, to approve the June 18, 2013 minutes. Motion by Hall, second by Loppnow and carried unanimously, to approve the Consent Agendas A. Approved the 2013-14 Resolution for Membership into the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL)+* B. Approved the membership in the Minnesota School Board Association (MSBA) for school year 2013-14+* C. Approved the membership into the Minnesota Rural Education Association for school year 2013-14+* D. Approved the membership in the Southeast Service Cooperation for school year 2013-14* Financial report review presented by Supt. Backer and Business Manager Todd Netske regarding current budget. Motion by Hall, second by Swenson and carried unanimously, to approve payment of monthly bills and Electronic Fund Transfers. Reports and Presentations Principal’s Report: Discussion related to school day cell phone usage and open-lunch; policies to remain until further discussion/information provided. Superintendent’s Report: Building and grounds update, staffing update, fall in-service information. Motion by Adkins, second by Weidemann and carried unanimously, to approve the Lunch Price Increase by 10 cents. The new prices Breakfast $1.30; Elementary lunch $2.05; High School lunch $2.15; and Adult lunch $3.80.
