| School Board Special Meeting Minutes June 4, 2024 The Board of Education of Independent School District #238 met on Tuesday, June 4th, 2024 at 6:00 pm in Science Room #50. Members present in person: Cristal Adkins, Dustin Tollefsrud, Jason Marquardt, Mark Weidemann, Chris Miller, Superintendent Gary Kuphal, Student Representative Rachelle Tollefsrud Also present in person: Principal Weidemann, Chad Pike with Kraus Anderson Present via visible-audible technology: Traci Livingood, Jason with Kraus Anderson, Kevin with ISG Members absent: Diane Wilder The meeting was called to order by Cristal Adkins at 6:08 pm. The Pledge of Allegiance was said. Motion to move Item B to first discussion and Item A to second by Chris Miller, second by Mark Weidemann and carried unanimously, to approve the revised agenda.
Items for Action and/or Discussion A. Discussion was held on the potential upcoming bond referendum. Gary gave background information on all involved in the referendum including Kraus Anderson and ISG. A concept map was shared with the board. A community meeting is set for Wednesday, June 12th at 7:30 to show plans. Bids will potentially go out in 2025, with construction beginning in 2026. No action taken. B. Discussion was held on solar array options. Gary went over the potential cost for M-C and gave information on the Federal rebate. Smaller option would cost $89,258.00, and the larger option being $121,499.00. Annual savings would be around $25,000-26,000 per year for the large solar option and $17,000 per year for the smaller option. A company will come look at the roof to give the ok on moving forward.
