School Board Special Meeting Minutes

Strategic Planning Meeting

October 12, 2022

The Board of Education of Independent School District #238 met on Wednesday, October 12th, 2022 at 5:30 pm in Science Room #50.

Members present in person:, Weidemann, Wilder, Miller, Marquardt, Superintendent Kuphal

Members present via visible-audible technology: Livingood, Tollefsrud

Also present in person: Principal Weidemann

Members Absent: Adkins, Student Representative Matthew McClimon

The meeting was called to order at 5:30 pm.  The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.  

Motion by Wilder, second by Marquardt and carried unanimously, to approve the agenda.

Five listening sessions held today:

• 12:00 pm Student Session - 22 students attended
• 1:30 pm Admin Session - Admin Group plus 2 Junior Class Students attended
• 3:15 pm All Staff Session - 18 staff members were present
• 5:30 School Board Session
• 6:30 pm Community Session

The Stakeholder Survey closes Sunday, October 16th at midnight.  Stakeholder report will be done after the survey closes.  

Questions that were addressed at the meetings:

1. What is positive at M-C?
2. What improvements, concerns, or changes can be made at M-C?
3. What is our vision?

5. December 20, 2022; School Board Meeting, 6:01pm

Adjournment:  Motion by Tollefsrud, second by Wilder, and carried unanimously to adjourn at 6:28 pm.
