Hello Fourth Graders and Parents! My name is Ms.Vatland, and this will be my eighth year teaching at Mabel-Canton. Here at Mabel-Canton you can also find me reffing volleyball, advising Senior High Knowledge Bowl students, and running the D.A.S.H./Summer School programs. I believe in learning from each other through hands on experiences and creating a strong classroom community. A little background about myself is that I graduated high school from Mabel-Canton in 2009. In 2013 I graduated college from St. Mary's University in Winona with an Elementary Bachelor's Degree. I have previously taught at La Crescent, Spring Grove, and Lanesboro Schools. I grew up on a small dairy and beef farm outside of town and currently live on a farm outside of Mabel. When I am not in the classroom, I enjoy spending my time outdoors, hunting, fishing, kayaking, and spending time on the farm with my dog Rosie and three horses. I am looking forward to a great successful school year!
